Meet Clifford Churchill Jr., a dedicated mental health professional with over 18 years of experience in the field. Clifford’s journey began in 2005, and since then, he has continuously pursued personal and professional growth to advance his knowledge and experience. In 2002, Clifford completed his education at Palm Beach Atlantic University, earning a master’s degree in counseling psychology. He specialized in working with children and guidance counseling, laying the foundation for his deep understanding of childhood trauma and developmental issues. Four years later, he returned to pursue additional coursework, obtaining his license as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida.

Driven by his passion for helping others, Clifford immersed himself in the world of community mental health agencies. For eight years, he dedicated his expertise to working with children and families. Through his unwavering commitment, he later rose to the position of Director at one of the local programs. This leadership role helped him when he moved on to another program co-directing a summer camp for at-risk children. This invaluable experience allowed him to witness the profound impact of early childhood trauma, environmental factors, and mental health challenges on schooling and family dynamics.

Ever eager to expand his knowledge and refine his skills, Clifford sought guidance from Dr. Richard Losardo, a board-certified psychiatrist. Under Dr. Losardo’s tutelage, he honed his diagnostic and treatment planning abilities through one-on-one supervision. In 2011, Clifford underwent specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based trauma therapy approach. Since then, he has effectively utilized this technique to aid individuals coping with various traumatic experiences, including loss, military and first responder-related issues, and emotional, physical, or sexual abuse.

Clifford’s path eventually led him to work with adults in the substance abuse treatment setting in Martin County. He progressed from Lead Therapist to Clinical Director and as the facility expanded, he eventually became the Chief Clinical Officer, overseeing operations across two states and three facilities. He eventually embarked on a new chapter as the Clinical Director at a premier facility in downtown West Palm Beach. Here, he played a pivotal role in founding the facility and developing an entire clinical program. Within two and a half years, the facility grew from a team of three employees to over 40, serving 50+ clients.

Throughout his career, Clifford always remained connected to the core of his passion—individual therapy. By working directly with clients, he witnessed the transformative power of therapy and its impact on personal growth. In addition to his work with children and families, his experience in the substance abuse treatment setting equipped him with a profound understanding of addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Driven by his unwavering dedication to providing exceptional care, he decided to follow his passion and establish his own practice.

At Churchill Counseling LLC, he specializes in trauma, mental health, addiction, child and family issues, and general coping skills. With the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and age groups, from children as young as 4 to adults of all ages, Clifford continues to witness growth and progress. His experiences in treating substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges inspire him to constantly strive for excellence as a therapist.

Clifford Churchill Jr. brings a genuine passion for helping others to his work at Churchill Counseling LLC. His goal is to support his clients in their journeys while continuing to strive for personal and professional growth.
